RHC Virtual Roundtable - Reinvigorating Cancer Care in Canada: The Power and Promise of Precision Medicine

Given the RHC’s focus on building stronger and more agile healthcare systems across Canada, on May 27, we convened an expert roundtable event to discuss new solutions and incentives to address ballooning backlogs in cancer diagnosis and increase access to treatment. This roundtable - entitled “Reinvigorating Cancer Care in Canada: The Power and Promise of Precision Medicine” - brought together 40 health system leaders to explore themes including (but not limited to):

  • the importance of data in unlocking the promise of precision medicine

  • how Canada can increase and improve collaboration across its health systems

  • the power of value-based healthcare

This panel featured Dr. Gwyn Bebb (Clinical Research Medical Director, Amgen), Louise Binder (Health Policy Consultant, Save Your Skin Foundation), Barry Stein (President & CEO, Colorectal Cancer Canada), and Eva Villalba (Executive Director, Quebec Cancer Coalition, Co-Chair of the Resilient Healthcare Coalition). Following the panelist discussion, the roundtable then opened up to a broader discussion with all participants.
