The Coalition’s Steering Committee Members represent a diverse group of stakeholders within the health sector, including industry, researchers, and advocacy groups, all across both the private and not-for-profit sectors.
Angela Behboodi
Angela Behboodi is the Director of Government Affairs and Advocacy at Amgen Canada. She has extensive experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, working for 5 years as Director of Policy at Roche Canada. Prior to that, Angela served as a federal public servant for eleven years. Dr. Siân Bevan
Dr. Siân Bevan is The Arthritis Society’s Chief Science Officer responsible for driving the scientific research, advocacy, public policy and programs and services agenda to maximize reach and impact. Siân completed her PhD in Medical Biophysics. Learn more about the Arthritis Society here.
Louise Binder
Louise Binder is a Health Policy Consultant at Save Your Skin Foundation. She is a lawyer and health advocate who is involved in informing the development of health policy and systemic treatment access practices from the patient perspective. She co-founded the Canadian Treatment Action Council (CTAC) in 1996. Learn more about Save Your Skin here.
Connie Côté
Connie Côté is the Chief Executive Officer of the member-based organization Health Charities Coalition of Canada. Connie has extensive experience in the health sector, coming to HCCC from the Canadian Lung Association, where she served as Senior Director. Jennifer van Gennip
Jennifer van Gennip is the Executive Director of Action Hepatitis Canada and the Network of Rare Blood Disorder Organizations (NRBDO). Jennifer is an experienced advocate who approaches eliminating viral hepatitis and improving access to care for those living with rare blood and bleeding disorders through a lens of social justice and health equity. Cate Murray
Cate Murray is the President and CEO of the Stem Cell Network (SCN). Cate is an experienced not-for-profit executive with a background in government relations, public policy and communications. Under her leadership since 2017, SCN played a key role in raising funds for patient-focused and cutting-edge research, advancing Canada’s regenerative medicine sector and equipping emerging leaders with the skills to compete globally. Nicole DeKort
Nicole DeKort is President & CEO of MedTech Canada. Nicole has a 15 year background in politics and government in a diverse portfolio of roles, including as Executive Director of Strategic Planning for the then Minister of Health and Long-Term Care. Learn more about MedTech Canada here.
Beth Kidd
Beth Kidd is the Executive Director of Health Coalition of Alberta. Beth has been bringing the patient voice to health care decision-making for more than 25 years. She is an inaugural member and current Chair of the Patient and Community Advisory Committee at Canada’s Drug Agency and a volunteer with Research Canada’s Board of Directors, among many others. Jonathan Pratt
Jonathan Pratt is the Directeur général at Regroupement québécois des maladies orphelines (RQMO). As Executive Director since July 2022, Jonathan is continuing the RQMO’s efforts to support people suffering from a rare disease in Quebec while finding new ways to engage with partners across the country. Dr. Jason Field
Dr. Jason Field is the President and CEO of Life Sciences Ontario, the industry voice for the life sciences sector in Ontario. Jason obtained his PhD in Chemistry from the University of Massachusetts , and then worked in the pharmaceutical industry and for the Government of Ontario. Jon Feairs
Jon Feairs is the Director, Government Affairs and Public Policy at AstraZeneca Canada. Jon has over 15 years experience in public policy decision making through senior advisor roles to Ontario Cabinet Ministers and biopharmaceutical CEOs. Ryan Lock
Ryan Lock is Director, Federal Affairs, Policy and Public Health for GSK Canada. Leading a small team within GSK’s Government Affairs and Market Access department, Ryan is responsible for developing GSK policy positions on market access and reimbursement issues and implementing evidence -driven national advocacy campaigns. Jonathan Mitchell is Vice-President, Research and Policy, at HealthCareCAN. He has over 15 years experience in various roles, at the Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health (CADTH), Accreditation Canada, and the Canadian Institute for Health Information. Barry Stein
Barry D. Stein, B.Com., B.C.L., LL.B. is the President and CEO of Colorectal Cancer Canada. He actively represents the interests of cancer patients and speaks regularly to medical professionals, industry, government, and patient groups across Canada and internationally. Carlene Todd
Carlene Todd is the Vice President of Access at Roche Canada. She has extensive access experience over the past 20 years at Roche, leading the Market Access & Public Policy team at Roche Australia from 2012-2019. Eva Villalba
Eva Villalba is the Executive Director of the Coalition Priorité Cancer au Québec. Since 2008, she has been involved in health-care charities, advocacy groups and nonprofits. She holds an MBA from HEC Montréal and completed an MSc in 2021.. in Health Care Transformation at the UT Austin - Value Institute for Health & Care.
