The CADTH Symposium has a well-earned reputation as a “must attend” event for anyone with an interest in the assessment, adoption, and management of drugs and medical devices. After 15 years as an in-person event, the Symposium successfully shifted to a virtual format in 2020 and 2021 to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, at the same time protecting the health and safety of attendees, presenters, and staff. Over 2,000 delegates and presenters participated online from across Canada and beyond including health researchers; health economists; senior leaders from government, regional health authorities, hospitals, and other facilities; clinicians and patients; students; and industry representatives.
Building on that success, the 2023 CADTH Symposium is expanding to a three-day hybrid event that will provide both in-person and virtual attendance options and will offer more sessions, more presenters, and new opportunities for networking and engagement. The in-person program will take place at the Shaw Centre in Ottawa, Ontario.
Topics of discussion will include:
• Methods to address uncertainty in health policy and health care delivery
• Changing needs of patients, clinicians, and policy-makers
• High-priority topics for health technology assessment
• Real-world evidence
• Drugs for rare diseases
• Virtual health care
• Digital health and artificial intelligence
• Methods to address unconscious bias in health research
• And much more!
