RHC Virtual Roundtable "How a Robust Canadian Life Sciences Strategy Drives Health and Wealth”

The life sciences sector in Canada is at a tipping point. The COVD-19 pandemic has starkly demonstrated not only the value of the ecosystem, but also the need to support and strengthen its assets and institutions. With policymakers in all orders of government starting to lay the cornerstones required to grow the sector across the country, the time is ripe to explore what needs to be done NEXT – and how a wide range of engaged and committed partners can best collaborate capitalize on a unique window of opportunity.

As an organization focused on improving patient outcomes by optimizing the use of health care data; and enhancing access to innovative technologies, the Resilient Healthcare Coalition sees a robust life sciences sector as fundamental to Canadian wellness and prosperity.

This belief underpinned the RHC’s decision to host a virtual roundtable on “How a Robust Canadian Life Sciences Strategy Will Drive Health and Wealth” on June 21.

Opening remarks were given by The Honourable Perrin Beatty, PC, OC, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, while the event was anchored by a panel discussion featuring RHC Co-Chair Dr. Jason Field (President and CEO, Life Sciences Ontario), Nicole DeKort (Vice President, Ontario & Marketing, Medtech Canada), Rory Francis (CEO, PEI BioAlliance), Anie Perrault (Director General, BioQuebec), and Wendy Hurlburt (President and CEO, Life Sciences BC).
