2024 Global Health Care Sector Outlook

Deloitte recently launched its 2024 Global Health Care Sector Outlook report, which highlights 5 key issues that will likely shape global health care in the upcoming year: 1) the role of A.I. in transforming health care, 2) cost and affordability, 3) global shortfall in health care workers, 4) social determinants of health, and 5) climate change and sustainability factors.

In 2024, the RHC will continue to focus on our twin policy pillars of Optimizing Data and Accelerating and Expanding Access – we strongly believe that these two pillars are the key to creating resilient healthcare systems that can improve patient care and health outcomes by being able to better absorb future shocks.

Hence, we are particularly excited to see the impacts that A.I. may have on optimizing health data collection, analysis, and interpretation, but also wary about how the above issues – such as cost and healthcare worker shortages – may further impact healthcare system resiliency, and ultimately undermine patients’ access to care and innovative therapies.

The RHC appreciates this informative report and will keep in mind the potential challenges and opportunities that the new year may bring.
